Hi my car is due for itv in October 2018. Can anyone please explain the process in Torrevieja.
Do you have to pre book or just take car for test? Is it advisable to have it checked prior to ITV. My car is 10 years old but really low mileage and very good condition.
Any information in this process would be really useful.

There's no need to make a prior appointment; you can just go along and join the queue to wait your turn.
However, it's easy to make an appointment online, and it's always satisfying that once I've been in the office and go back to the car, I'm called in before everyone else in the queue. Last time, they called me in before I even got back to the car, and there were thirteen cars waiting their turn. I get vicarious satisfaction from driving past everyone else who's queuing.
If you're happy with the condition of your car, then there's no need to get a prior check. All I do is check that all the lights are working, the tyres are legal, the seatbelts aren't damaged, etc. If the test centre is near to you, I suggest driving around a bit first to get the engine up to optimum temperature. Taking a vehicle in with a cold engine could lead to it failing the emissions tests.

You can make an appointment with the ITV test centres at Torrevieja and Pilar here:
To avoid having too many cars in the queue to drive round, I go either early in the morning or during siesta time around 3.00.
