Does anyone have up to date info on Low emission zones in Torrevieja and Alicante? I have an old car that doesn't qualify for a sticker.

I saw that questions were being asked in the EU parliament re Alicante ZBEs and no fines etc just last month.

Torrevieja hasn't introduced anything yet but it is intended it will stretch from where  Calle Orihuela meets Calle Ramon Gallud and across to where Ramon Gallud meets Calle  Juan Mateo. I expect they may wait until June next when the new underground car park with 600 spaces is ready in the new Port development.  The entrance to the Car Park will be down Calle Maria Parodi  and the exit will be to Calle Juan Mateo. All cars with and without stickers will be allowed access to the car park. The proposed ZBE area will stretch from where Calle Orihuela meets Calle Ramon Gallud to the intersection with Calle Juan Mateo Garcia and all the streets south of these.

There will be a new roundabout at the end of Calle Maria Parodi. The roundabout is supposed to be temporary but unless they can go underground it will become a permanent fixture.

The roundabout will be located between Plaza Waldo Calero, (the waterfall) Calle María Parodi and Plaza de Castelar, and the access to the parking lot will run between what is now a section of Paseo de La Libertad and the renovated Customs building.
The infrastructure requires the transfer of 24 booths from the craft market on Paseo de La Libertad , popularly known as the "hippies", which will be relocated in parallel to the current ones within the scope of the port space itself in what is now part of the surroundings of the port. Customs building.

Plan of the new roundabout. In gray the roundabout and its roads. To the left, the Waldo Calero square. In red the new row of hippie stalls relocated to the back of the current inner row of the promenade
