Found this lurking on my outside spiral staircase.  Is it a locust?

Not a locust, think it is a big green grasshopper.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

He didn’t seem too put out by my encouraging him to get off my staircase hand rail. I used a stiff small paper bag and he just moved around the metalwork before finally jumping or falling off to the horizontal surface below

The amusing thing about this is that my other half saw the green beastie before I did and thought nothing of it.  Yesterday though she was doing a spot of dusting and, on pulling a door away from the wall, she came face to face with a large cockroach at eye level!  This was the middle of the afternoon so what on earth was it doing out and about during the day?

Despite her terror of the thing she had the peace of mind to go and get our racquet shaped zapper and pinned it to the wall with the current available.  She then carried it still attached to the wires downstairs and presented me with the horrible thing.  Still pressing the red button in case it woke up I dispatched it to an outside drain.
