In addition to the license fee, for major works you will also need to factor in an architect's fee, which will depend entirely on the plans required.

We recently gained an Orba Menor for two bathroom refits, a new kitchen and some replacement windows at our house near Jalon.

I met the local authority Architect and went through my sketches of what we were proposing and he made some comments, (the windows had to be either wood or look like wood, not white, was I doing any electrical alterations? etc.)

I did all the forms and paperwork, no Architect, Engineer etc. I just listed all the works we were carrying out with the estimated cost of labour plant and materials for each element.

I did a copy on English and then used google translate to produce a version in Spanish, two copies of any

drawings and site plan.

The initial fee was 93 euro and the final bill was 417 euro and I think that worked out at 5% of my total value.

If you are going to do the paperwork yourself I would be tempted to err on the low side for your costs as the fee is based on a percentage

I have to say it was fairly straight forward and easy
