Hi everyone!

We are looking at kitcehn renovations and need to decide on which oven and hob to buy.

We have lived overseas for 6 years and we're out of touch with this kind of thing. Any recommendations would be grateful as well as negative feedback on what not to get.

We have been told by our neighbours that their ovens are uselss, they take too long to heat up and forever to cook anything. Not sure if they have useless models or whether it's our power supply. we live in Paraje Natural near La Siesta.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks, kiwi gal

14 years ago we bought an AEG Fan Oven from Tien21 and I have been very pleased with it.   Tien21 staff are very helpful - when they delivered the oven they also fitted it at no extra charge.   A few years later we also bought an AEG Hob from Tien21, a different branch though, and again when they delivered it they also fitted it at no extra cost.

I would definitely say it’s down to the ovens they have. We have literally just got back from our new property on the same urbanisation.

The oven in there isn’t the best either so we are buying a new fan assisted one when we are back in January. There is nothing wrong with the voltage .

We looked at a few at Garcia Mubeles I think it’s called, reasonably priced.

Hi Kiwi Gal,

I'd recommend Tien21 too.  We bought a Miele, fan-assisted oven from the Almoradi branch and a Teka induction hob (because it was one of very few brands which supplied 4 ring hobs, rather than only 3 rings), and we were delighted with the price and service.

Kind regards

Hi Ray,

No problems with ours, not even since the roll out of Smart meters, despite reports that they're less forgiving if you go over your potencia.

In the mornings, I may have the washing machine on at the same time as hob, microwave, kettle and toaster with no problems - on the odd occasion when it has tripped, it's usually because our pool pump has come on, but I think our supply seems more stable now than it was when we first moved here 3 years ago.  Our rating is 5.75 kw - that's 15% greater potencia, so I suppose that may be enough to make the difference? 🤔

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi, having been in catering for 30+ years, and married for 43 years, I have always used Bosch, I’ve never ever had a problem. I’m under the frame of mind of buy cheap buy twice. 😎

You neighbors will probably have conventional ovens, they have heating elements at the top and bottom of the oven. The top one doubles up as the grill element. Go for a multifunction fan oven (not fan assisted) the heating elements are on the bottom, top and around the rear fan.  It depends upon what you want from your oven. Is a timer essential, do you need stay clean liners ( to the side only or also above the top element). Do you need auto cooking functions or just fan, top element(grill), bottom element, and covential cooking. Do you want stow away door (drops down then slides beneath the cavity). Decide what you want from you oven and go hunting.

Best of luck

Jim

Hi to all the lovely people who answered my request. Much appreciated!!

We have just bought an AEG oven with fan from Pepe who gave us a great deal on both oven and AEG ceramic top.

Pepe speaks both English and Spanish and is a very honest man. His shop is in the Mercadona area in Playa Flamenca, we highly recommend him.

Have a great fiesta tomorrow.

Regards Kiwigal
