Gracias.

I would get a pellet burner more efficient easy to use and maintain we installed one last year it’s excellent.

I have used wood burners in the past very messy and more expensive to run a lot more hassle than a pellet burner.

Cheers

I  am  taking  out s  Wood Burner,  as  too  messy,  too much  Hard work

Getting  a  Pellet stove,   Domestic  hover will  clean  it, as  a lot less ashes than Wood Burner,

Go  the  extra mile  and get a Pellet stove,  and  save yourself  self  Hardship

Would agree entirely with above. We replaced the awful old wood burner in this house with a fabulous new one - Big Mistake! We are toying with taking it out and replacing with a pellet burner. The cost of good quality logs is much dearer than you think, for what it cost us last year, we could have run our underfloor heating 24/7. To say nothing of the mess and general hassle.

Hi we on the other hand love our log burner. We love the smell of it, the look of it and the fact that we can put potatoes wrapped in foil in it. We have been to several of our friends that have pellet burners and they just look like a Roman candle firework burning away. We pay 13cents a kilo for olive wood. Maybe it’s because we have centre heating, plus if you have a power cut NO heating. As for being messy, we use a good quality ash burner and keep the filter clean, after all what else have I got to do each day. But each to their own 😎

I know what you mean, but like everything, it depends on quality, the pellet burners we have been looking at are indistinguishable from wood burning. The cost of our wood last season was over 600 euros, but we have to have it delivered by the cubic metre, 3.5 mt at a time. We’ve taken to using oak as we found olive although cheaper, not so efficient. And yes, we clean it daily etc etc but the hassle is not for us!!!

Robbie

It’s hard to put a cost on how much it will cost to run but I will say at least 3 times more expensive than a pellet burner and the pellet burners give you at least 95 percent heat  on what you burning while a wood burner gives you around 75 percent that’s if the wood is decent and dry.

Not to mention the mes and damage to the environment log burners in the Uk may be banned soon.

make sure you have ventilation and a carbon monoxide detector for both very important.

Cheers
