Hello from a very wet Dublin. I need to make a Spanish will . I have downloaded the form which I can fill out in English. My question is ...can I go directly to a notary for notarisation or do I need to bring my Solr along as well.

Regards

Thank you Ray

I had a look at Jim’s guide but the notary he mentions is in Almoravid. I’m hoping to find an English speaking notary close to Torrevieja

Regards

Hello

I did mine in the notary and it cost 50euro 5 years ago.  I speak quiet good Spanish so I didn't need a translator.  If you don't speak Spanish, you will need one.

They asked me the questions and put the information down.

You will also be asked if you want English law or Spanish law.  I chose English then I can leave everything to whom I want.  Spanish law...I think everything go to your children.

Hope this helps

Sue 😘

Just be aware that, depending on its wording, you may need to make a new Irish will. The guide refers to UK, but is applicable to any country:

And to follow on from Ray, whatever copy you have has no legal validity. It is only when Madrid have checked and issued a Certificado de Últimas Voluntades that the legal copy of a will can be obtained from the relevant notary.
