Hi, i am Ella 0131 i am planning to come to Torrevieja in October and staying for 2 months to find out if this is place i would like to live.

I have a few things to sort out .. is 2 months enough time to find if the place is for me... my family are concerned that i am going alone and dont speak Spanish but can speak Italian ...

Where is a good place to live on your own im 54 but will be 55 when im going is it ok to come alone?

Through time if my plans work out id lilke to bring my cat but for now she will go in the cattery for 2 months

I have or hoping to get an Italian passport

I would appreciate any feedback as i say im coming alone and dont know anyone

Thanks Ella 0131

Hi Ella0131,

Welcome to the forum, I have an apartment in the Acequion- Náufragos área, and there are a lot of multilingual people there, one of my favourite cafés, Pizza Flash, is owned by Italianos and very friendly, I have heard Italian, French, German, Russian, I think?, I speak English, but have not used it, and we all get along fine. Please don't be afraid of being alone in Torrevieja, be brave, you will enjoy it!

Hi Ella0131,

I speak a little Spanish, but not enough!

I can highly recommend Sell2go, it's an estate agents but Kingsley is very friendly and also acts as a letting agent.

Regards

Keith

Hi Ella

We too live in the Naufragos area, as Keith says, there are many nationalities here, it is a very friendly area.  Italian will give you a head start speaking Spanish. There are quite a few singletons around.  It is about a twenty minute walk to the centre of town, and has all facilities within walking distance.  There are also bus routes along the main road.

Before we moved here we used Tripadvisor.co.uk to find apartments to stay in temporarily.  They have a scheme that protects your money from fraudsters.

Hi Ella, hope you don't mind me shortening your title, what's Torre like? I can only say everyone has their own opinions, taste, budget. Near el blanco molino the beach is great and goes on beyond la Mata. The centre of Torre is busy, I like the playa del cura área, los locos playa not quite as nice. It really is very subjective. I've only lived here since the beginning of Covid19, so can't say what it's like normally, weather wise, today lovely 20c  but it can get cold, and has rained quite a bit recently.
