Apartment for me, I looked into caravans/mobile homes a few years ago for some friends, the site fee for the mobile home sites was more than the mortgage payments on most of the apartments they looked at. They ended up buying a small villa and it was still less than the site fees.

But most mobile home parks have a ready made community for you to join and everything you need on site, shop, pool, cafe, bar etc.

I was once told that the sites get away with charging such high amounts as it's mostly illegals who live on them, as most sites are "no questions asked". So perhaps if they start to return to the UK prices will come down?

It all depends on where you move to, we live in a fantastic community. I can walk into the village and stop and chat to any number of people. There is a great community feeling, if someone needs help there is always someone who will volunteer.

In the UK we lived in the same house for 20 years, I knew the names of my immediate neighbours and that was it, the people next door but one I don't think we ever said more than hello to.
