Can anyone advise me on the best way to get a certificate of habitation

Hi Julie,
Are you talking about a Certificate of First habitation (for a new build property), or a second or subsequent Certificate for an existing property? If the former, the developer should obtain it; if the latter, you should visit the Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) who will advise you what is required and arrange, if necessary, for their architect to visit the property. If you already own the property, then you will need to do this (or appoint a lawyer or gestor to do it for you); if you are in the process of buying a property that needs this certificate, I would make it a condition of your purchase that the vendor obtains it before completion.
