This is a basic guide, https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-insurance/pets-in-plane-cabin. There are also various pet transporters who will drive your dog down for you and I've  seen decent reviews about them on here. The problem with driving them down yourself means you then have to get your RHD car back to UK to sell or end up with a car in Spain which you will have some degree of difficulty selling and only then at a bargain price.

Hi we brought our dog and 2 cats to Spain with Blue Air.We flew from Liverpool airport. My pets went in hold but if your dog is small and meets the airlines requirements it can go in the cabin with you.I am not sure where Blue Air fly from best checking on line. There are other airlines that do the same.Hope this helps.

Regards

Maureen

It’s much easier to use one of the specialised animal transport companies. I understand that to collect one’s animals from the airport - assuming travelling in hold - they have to be collected from the ‘cargo’ depot at the airport which may not be as simple as the luggage merry go round.

Animal transporters would be able to arrange this for you, and do all the delivery collections. However, would suggest that its really much better to send them with overland transport, doesn’t take long, you don’t have to worry about them and if necessary, they can be delivered to a local kennels to await collection at your convenience.

This is what we did with our two cats and it was very simple and efficient.
