We have just made the move over and one of the things we need to sort out is our mobile phones. We still using our phones on our British contracts with O2 but need to cans and have Spanish , not sure how to do this, where to go or what company. Some guidance would be great. Thanks in advance.

There are 3 main players in Spain - MoviStar/Vodafone/Orange. there are various other smaller outfits but they will effectively be utilising one of the major 3 and remarketing it with varying prices etc,
you pays your money and you takes your pick.
the three main ones usually have stores in most towns - v similar to UK - you simply go in and arrange a contract that suits you - they all have printed brochures and/or explanatory websites.
The easiest thing to do may be to buy a v cheap payg phone that you can stick in a drawer later, which will give you a new number which you can retain when you arrange a contract. This will bridge the gap between cancelling UK and getting set up here officially.
But do be careful, contracts here don’t appear to include text, unlike UK, which helps to explain the ubiquity of WhatsApp, which is what everyone uses here all the time.

Try Lobster, they’re offering good deals and are very helpful. They speak English and include texts and calls back to the UK.
