Be very careful about IPTV, it is not all it is cracked up to be or what an installer might claim. You need a strong and stable internet connection otherwise your TV picture will freeze and you will loose channels at times. We were taken in, got no refund from our installer and had to look around for other options and got Mike at Satmart Installations ( www.satellitetvtorrevieja.com ) to install a 1.4 metre dish. No premium sports channels but at least we now have TV we can view.

Getting the TV sorted was a nightmare, firstly Nortons gave rubbish reception before turning their system off without notice, then we taken in my a private installer who promised the world with IPTV which turned out to be no better as due to our location we were not able to get a strong and steady enough Internet signal, all okay with the dish now except when it rains as the rain interferes with the dish reception, have never heard of such a rubbish excuse. only positive is that I can go to the Pub to watch the football.

Before trying this 'n' that I'd recommend you get familiar with some literature about what IPTV stands for as well as "streaming", "geo blocking", and "VPN" in order to get an idea about what you really need with regard to hard- and software. And forget about "legal/illegal", Spanish copyright laws do not affect whatever you do for your own private use.

IPTV = Intermittent Problematic Troublesome Viewing !

Bottom line: If you want reliable TV a dish for Sky or Freesat is the only way to go.

In some areas 1.4m might suffice but is likely be significant affected by rain so I'd always recommend 1.9m.

Sure Sky comes at a cost (and pretty steep one if you want sport and the other premium channels) but if that is too unpalatable then a combination with IPTV might be a compromise solution.

I use TV Horidada which is fibre so not ugly sat dish. Itis available in parts of Villamartin - it comes with English speaking TV and costs 30 Euros per month. The have a stall at Zenia Boulevard where you could enquire.
