Can anyone recommend where I should go to get my laptop repaired.  I think I have a virus on my system which got through the virus protection software.  English speaking preferably.

Many thanks

Helga

Giving your computer away can make you vulnerable. There is some free software keeping you on the safe side, i.e. Malewarebytes, Wise Disk Cleaner, and AVG Antivirus. Sensitive personal data should always be kept on a removable memory stick, they are really cheap. Better stay away from capacities exceeding 64GB. For additional safety chosse "encrypted" sticks. Then think about privacy, You can make yourself "invisible" to others using the "Opera browser" which comes with a free VPN . Also, have a look at "Tor/Onion" and the "Deep/Darknet".

I just think the OP is wanting their computer checked and cleared of any viruses at this stage, the additional preventative measures you have advised could be followed afterwards

Thanks all, its my mouse that has disappeared and I have tried everything suggested to re-install functionality without success so now its over to someone who does this for a living.  Will try CompuRed.
