There was recent thread which covered car hire at Alicante airport - do a search at the top of the page on  "car hire from Alicante airport" . There were lots of recommendations from various people. There was also a warning not to use Goldcar.

We bought our home through Vista Casa estate agents, located in Villamartin plaza. They were very good, no pressure selling and helpful advice. That was in 2017, so some time ago. They have just sold a property a few doors along from us in June thus year so they are still going. Their website is vistacasas.com.

For car hire you could try Coys Rent a car based in Torrevieja but do pick up and drop off at Alicante airport. They are highly recommended but for that reason they tend to be busy . so good luck.

Hi we've used D&M Car hire they are located across from Villamartin plaza. Also used Rent me car hire not far from La Zenia area you can find them on Facebook.

I’ll seconded that emotion.  We looked at a villa with inmo and found them to be all you said. Alas they didn’t have the property we wanted.

We have used Coys for years. They are a fantastic car hire company. They just add 20€ for fuel and you bring it back empty, ideal if you are only going for a short break, buy more fuel as and when you need it. One fee for excess waiver and no long que at the airport desks with people arguing about all the excess charges for every conceivable thing they can add on. They have a website and you book direct.

I have used EDI and Coys rent a car, they are both excellent and honest.

I have used different estate agents but by far the best  I find is Costa Blanca Homes in Spain. Tony Woods from the company will steer you right,  There are many others, I won't mention names, who just want a quick sale and commission. 

Look up the  reviews of the businesses that I have recommended.

We use ok car rental,  but we pay our excess cover , in villamartin at present driving a Peugeot 208gt brand new , cost €200 for a week no big deposit,  piece of mind.
