Hi,

We had loads of trouble with Ok car rental, firstly we hired a fiat 500 as the nissus was thinking of buying one, we got a Citroen ,when we returned the car they agreed all was ok, but then tried to steal €700 from our account, luckily I paid with a credit card and was able to get the monies back, as they were unable to provide proof, they did however keep the deposit for the fuel, roughly about €70 .

NEver used them again or any company associated with them, partly why we brought a car in spain, not many of them are decent….

Totally agree, think most make their main profit through scams , little dents , scuffs on wheels etc, that's why we pay a little more and pay very little excess , best by far was weiber but there prices went through the roof,

Hi,

We used EDI , had no issues with them, but they too put there prices up.

So we decided to buy a car, we don’t live in spain and come over as often as we can, so my friend who is there all the time has our car and gives it a spin once a week and picks us up from the airport etc.

I believe it will take us about 2/3 years to recover the cost and you don’t really have to worry about the odd Spanish kiss it gets in car parks etc.

Car hire alicante airport. My recommendation is that the company has an office inside the terminal and you hire a car full petrol and return full petrol. Also check their opening times as your flight might be late arriving in the evening.

I would endorse James' comments on Costa Blanca homes in Spain. We used them to purchase our apartment in 2018 and Tony was excellent - he took care of everything for us. Post sale he is still happy to support us with any issues or question that we may have.

We have also used EDI car rental and they were excellent.
