Buying a Car

Hi All,

We purchased a House in Villamartin which we use for holidays. We have been hiring cars for the last 11 months. We are thinking it’s about time we purchase a car.

Any advice on rules, suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated

Used cars depreciate less in value than in the U.K. probably because they last longer in this climate- It is often better to buy through a dealership, rather than buying privately, as you will have the car fully serviced, an ITV ( MOT ) if it is an older car, a warranty, help with getting insurance ( Linea Directa gets my recommendation ), a point of contact if there is a problem and the cost of change of ownership will be included in the price and done for you possibly saving a few hundred Euro.
