Hi All

I have just bought a holiday home in las filipinas and will need a car ! My question is, is it feasible to buy a car in England ( I prefer a RHD) and bring it over here have it registered here to be able to leave it at my house or is it too expensive and it would be easier to buy one here (used car) TIA

In January, last year we bought our Spanish car. We leave it at Alicante airport when we don’t use it at a cost of 299 euros a year and we use the Alicante Car parking company. Never had any problems with the garage I purchased the car from and also the parking company. My personal thoughts are that I made the correct decision and bought an 8 yr old car but everybody to their own.

Kind Regards

With respect, driving a RHD car in Europe isn’t necessarily a good idea. I appreciate that you are currently more comfortable in a RHD, but driving an LHD doesn’t take that much getting used to and is a great deal safer!

Perfectly feasible.

But not really worth it unless you have a car that you particularly want with you in Spain.

Assume 1000 Euros to switch headlights and re-register a low value (low CO2) UK car.
