Hi everyone I was speaking to a guy on my way back to Villamartin who told me of a new law that’s due to be put in place by the end of the year 2023, about old cars pre 2006 . He said that pre any cars that old will not be allowed to be used . Does anyone know anything about this?

Same applies to evironment stickers - still not impmlemented and a completely uncertain future. An initiative in Madrid was overruled by a court, and most probably and hopefully this will set precendence. NO PANIC - NO STICKER - a storm in a teapot.

Have a look at the N332 website.   It was set up for English speaking people and deals with anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil and has a Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.   The car sticker can be obtained from a post office (Correos) and costs 5 euros, and can also be purchased on-line I believe for about 7 euros.

Thanks Killjoy . Seems again like lack of information again from government. Cheers Ba

To put your mind at ease, cars older than 2006 will not be banned. There may be some restrictions in some areas of the big towns but, looking at the maps being shown on various sites, are quite confined areas in the centre. There will be nothing to stop you driving anywhere else outside these areas or on transit routes around the cities including motorways and national roads.

Just people seeing an article and reading more into it than there is. Torrevieja, the nearest big town to you, hasn't even come up with an area yet but is proposing the seafront area which is going to be well pedestrianised anyway. They are saying they will issue the full areas this month.
