UK to Spanish driving license

Really sorry - this has probably been covered before, but after searching the site for over an hour, I can't find anything.

In a nutshell:

Just realised my UK driving license expires at the end of August.

Been resident here for around 6 months so looking to get Spanish license.

I THINK I have found a local doctor's surgery who can do the medical.

What I am truly struggling with, is finding finding the trafico office that can do the actual transaction. I've followed links on 2 official sites but keep going round in circles.

I'll probably renew with UK online just to ensure maintaining legality, but would like to get the Spanish one ASAP.

You cannot renew a UK licence if you are not UK resident.

The DVLA require a declaration that you are resident and also have access to the NI and HMRC records to verify claims which applicants might make.

Trafico appear to still be processing licence exchanges, both myself and my wife received ours about a month ago so well into the lockdown, but i suspect you may need an agent to handle it for you. I'm sure someone more local can recommend one.

Don't expect it to be quick though, from start to finish ours took 5 months virtually to the day.

If there is a gestoria locally, they will probably be able to handle everything once the medical is sorted out. They obviously charge for doing it but it isn't a huge amount.

Pass the medical, get a new licence sized photo, pop into the gestoria with everything, then receive your licence quite a while later.
