Download Aena airport App. You can book direct on the App and it takes about 2 minutes, €40.85/18.85 for adults/children. That's for the lounge on the 1st floor, the one on the 3rd floor can't be booked online.

How on earth is it going to make financial sense to pay forty odd euros per person to use a lounge to obtain free food and drink, instead of paying two or three euros over and above outside prices per pint or sandwich in the normal departure area?

If you have time, and a designated driver, you can divert off to Torrellano just before the airport. This small town is right next to the airport and has plenty of bars and restaurants, including one I often use called Braseria Casa Juan on the right as you enter the town.

To be honest , the 1st floor Lounge isn’t worth the money. The food offering is pretty …. Forgettable. Like a couple stale sandwiches or a croissant and yoghurt .   However , it is quiet and the bathrooms are clean.
