AT/VT Licence?

Good afternoon,

I have been informed that the property of which I am interested in buying does have a tourist licence on the property however I seem to think that this is under the AT licence of where the agent has applied for this and only them are able to advertise the property.

Is anyone aware if this is the case what is the process to change this over under a VT licence where I can personally advertise the property myself and is it just the same process and potentially lengthy time of what it would be as if applying for a brand new tourist licence?

Also is anyone aware of the process of changing ownerships over of the tourist licence ?

Agents can only advertise a property that is licensed but as an agent they use their number rather than the property number. The actual license belongs to the property and not a person or agent. So even if it is currently let through an agency they should be able to provide the actual property's license number.

Once you own the property you can change the License into your name through the office for tourism in Alicante but probably quickest to ask you solicitor to do it because they can do it as have access to all the relevant documents and will be registering the change of property ownership with the land registry. If you want to do it yourself you will need to wait while until you have it confirmed that the details have been changed.

Once the License is in your name you will need to register with the Guardia Civil to be able to pass the details of your guests via their website.

There are several websites and lots of Facebook pages where you can advertise yourself, you do not need an agent. You will need a good keyholder and cleaner, booking forms, contracts and insurance. There is a requirement to display your License number in all adverts.
