Hi and welcome to the forum

There are a few questions I think you need to think about and perhaps advise the forum members before working out a suitable area

1. You have said a flat area-if walking is an issue I would perhaps rule out villamartin as it’s quite hilly in my opinion (I’m here 4 years and don’t drive so speaking from experience lol)

2. Do you plan to have a car? If not, you need to be sure that there are good bus routes all year round

3. Do you plan to be permanent residents, visiting for long spells all year round or just in summer? Some areas are very busy in summer but die a death in winter

4. How far in costa blanca are you willing to look at? When we were buying we could only get flights from Belfast to Alicante so we drew a line 45 mins in either direction. If you have option to fly into Murcia and Alicante you may want to look at area in between?

5. Do you want Spanish area or expat community?

6. How important is the beach? We chose to be close to beach and have literally been about 6 times in 4 years (if I had to do it again would go further inland as lot more house for your money)

Hope this helps and forum members will give great advice once you can narrow down your requirements . It might also be worth considering renting for a few months before purchasing to get an idea of the area

Deirdre

Hi we had the same criteria as you. We looked at all the areaa and eventually decided on Punta Prima. Its a flat walk to all the shops bars restaurant and beach. Its not as busy as Playa Flamenca which is about a mile away but it easy to walk there if you wanted to. Having said that there us plenty to do. We dont live there its purely for holidays .you need to look at all the areas and see which one works for you. Good luck in your search
