Hi all,
My partner and myself will be retiring to Spain (Villamartin) early next year where we already own a house
We will be living on a private pension/savings
Neither of us are of retirement age for a few years so i am assuming we will require private healthcare until we reach retirement age when we can have state healthcare - is this correct
Has anyone had the same scenario. Any advice would be very much appreciated

Yes, you will need to arrange private healthcare. Assume that you will be applying for ‘residency’ if you intend retiring here; the healthcare will have to comply with the residencia requirements. There are several perfectly reputable companies in the health insurance market, a competent insurance agent should be able to help you. When you reach retirement age, you will need to contact DHSS Newcastle who deal with ex-pats pensions etc to obtain the correct paperwork to enable you to apply for Spanish health service entitlement.

We are in the same position, if it helps we used Gran Alicant insurance, they advertise on this forum, Alfonso is brilliant
