What   Passport  do  you both  have. Since Brexit  the  goalposts  have moved  in wrong  direction  for UK  Passport  holders 

Hi we both hold UK and lreland passports.

Can we still live and work in spain?

Are  you  a  married  couple.  If  so  UK  passport  holder   can  piggy back off Irish  passport  holder. 

UK  passport  will  find it difficult  to get  legal  employment  and  90  days  rule  kick in as  well.

So will we need work before we move to spain, or can we sort all visas out and move them potentially find work like that?

The one of you who has the Irish passport does not need a visa to move to Spain - you can move here and apply for your foreigners' registration once you're here, which needs to be done before the end of your first 90 days in Spain.

The UK spouse does not need a visa (despite Brexit, UK citizens currently benefit from Schengen visa-free travel to the EU), but will need to apply for a residency permit as a Family Member of a EU Citizen:

Before you commit please do your research.

Forget what the tv shows say about living in Spain it is not a ‘laid back lifestyle’ unless you have the financial backing to live . Working for a living in Spain will be a lot harder than doing so in the UK as the pay is lower and often you will work longer hours. It is not out of the ordinary to need 2 jobs each just to survive.

As to finding work unless you have skills which are in short supply then you have a hard task before you and unfortunately the skills you share are in an abundance in Spain.

Cost  of  living  might surprise 😮  you  as  it  not  cheap  to  live as many  people   think. Yes  some  Property   can be  pick  up  reasonably   but  the further  inland  you go the  more property  you get but a Car is essential.  Some degree of  Spanish  is also  required. 

Second Car prices  are expensive.  Car  insurance  is  Cheap  as  Car is insured  not the Person.  Car tax  is cheaper  depending  on area  you live  in.

Property  tax is chap compared to UK. Water and Electricity  similar  to UK

I  find   some groceries  prices more Expensive  than UK.  Salmon  and Steak very  expensive.   Dining  out is  very  reasonable. 

Bank  account  fees  very  expensive 

Well  that is my  experience  of cost of living in  Spain 🇪🇸
