I used a chap called Pablo Fernández in Torrevieja. Really smooth, he did everything. Opened bank account for me Got me my nie. Transferred all utilities into my name. I didn't do much. Cost was about 1800ish euros. 1000e of that was for the notary. His office manager was English. You will get a lot of posts like this telling you their solicitor was the bees knees. Best to just email a couple of the sols who's details you get. Get a price and go with what feels best.
Two quick tips if buying.
1. Do not under any circumstances give the estate agent any form of deposit. They will try and scare you into it. But don't fall for the game
2. Do not be tempted to take the easy option and use any solicitor suguested by the estate agent

Thanks for that.
We have now been and done a property search. We have fallen in love with an apartment, but unfortunately it's north facing, but has the most fantastic views. Does it really make such a difference, the north facing side consists of all glass frontage but with good double glazing.
Love to hear some debates/opinions on this matter!!!!!

North facing was a deal breaker for us. We were looking for a house with balconies and gardens. So we wanted to make sure we had as much sun as possible. We found an app on line which tracked the line of the sun. We immediately discounted about 35% of the properties as they were the wrong aspect.
Where we are now has large balconies / terraces at the front and rear. So we get the sun all day as it's South West facing
Does your property have outside space balcony or roof terrace to be able to sit in the sun after 1pm or will you be in shade. If its the latter i would say no. What's the point of having a property with no sun.
Others may disagree. But it's a known fact properties with a poor aspect take longer to sell

The apartment has extremely large terrace, with swimming pool in front and then golf course behind swimming pool. Have been told the pool and garden area get some winter sun. It's so frustrating as we have fallen in love with these apartments!!!! Just don't know how cold it gets in Jan/ Feb?

We spent Xmas and ny at our house. Never again the house was too cold even with our air con etc on. Looking at the property you will get no sun at all after about 11am. This will make the house feel colder in the winter months. Also when you just want to chill in the afternoon you will have to use the public areas for this as you will not get any private sun on your property. Me personally I would not take the property on, purely on aspect.

I bought my apartment because the balcony and roof terrace had to have sun all day and night, now I wish I had morning sun only as it’s torture to sit outside for meals, we find we now sit inside a lot as the heat can be unbareable. We also have an awning we use and have now got a big fan just for the balcony, It maybe colder in the winter months not being in the sun all day but I’d rather be able to sit out during the summer months when we’re there, it’s still a holiday home for us. I urge you to think of every aspect before commiting as we were one track minded and now regret it. I love my apartment but wish I could move it to the other side of the street.

We are using Sandra from express legal she came with us for same day NIE and helped us set up a bank account, sorted out surveyor and did searches we are still in process but they are registered with the English law society too and she is English which I think all helps. http://www.expresslegalsolicitors.com/ The costs where great at just €1300 euros too.
