Hi richard22,

Yes, you can have an electronic certificate as a Non-resident - friends of mine, who have their TIE appointments next month, obtained their certificates a couple of weeks ago.

Whilst Jim's guide isn't explicit on that point, I think it's implied in his paragraph, "I then went to Rafal this morning with our residencias (NIEs WOULD DO AS WELL, as would a Spanish driving license) and passports".

It is very easy to do - we got ours a few weeks ago, following Jim's guide.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Richard22,

I think it varies from one town hall to another.  At Formentera, we didn't need an appointment to update our Padron, but we needed one to get our digital certificates.

Probably best to contact your town hall direct:

Tel:  965 720 001

Email:  info@sanmigueldesalinas.es

Kind regards,

Kim

As Kim says, check with your town hall. I called into Rafal this morning and was told they're no longer dealing with electronic certificate requests. I then looked at Callosa town hall, and that says an appointment isn't necessary, so that's where I'll be taking Margaret's daughter during the next few days.

Be aware that Suma are not doing electronic certificate requests at the moment.
