Naturgy - Direct Debit set up

Hi - I am banking with WISE and trying to pay my Naturgy bills by Direct Debit, however, Naturgy do not seem to be able to set this up saying that my IBAN number has not enough digits.  

We pay all our other utilities through WISE so what is the problem?

Has anyone else experienced this?

You can check that the IBAN is correct by entering it in the following link:

Thank you John, I will try this. I have checked the IBAN number myself and it is indeed correct - however, the IBAN number I have does not include the banks' alphabetical id  ie.  NATWEST Bank is NWBK  and is included after to country code.

Hi Heather

I've no experience of Naturgy, but when I (and others on this forum) attempted to change the IBAN on our direct debits with Hidraqua it turned out that the website insists on a Spanish IBAN. However, I messaged them and they changed it for me on their internal system, no problem. Their website now happily shows the WISE Belgian IBAN.

My Wise Belgian IBAN does not have any alphabetical ID, 

If all else fails, you can probably pay your bill by logging on to the Naturgy website.

When I was with them 2 years ago they wouldn't take a non Spanish iban, although this may have changed by now?

It made me change supplier in the end and I now get dual supply from Iberdrola.
