Hi, just wanted to shed a positive light on our recent trip to Algorfa. We’re all fully vaccinated so we printed off those details (which were sent on request from the NHS app). We filled in the passenger locator forms and also printed those out. We flew with Wizzair from Doncaster without any problems. On arrival to Alicante it was very well organised with desks set up to check your documents.

We had our ‘fit-to-fly’ test to fly home in Almoradi the day before we flew home and had this documentation, along with our passenger location form and evidence of the booking of our day 2 tests for UK. We checked in at the desk and our ‘fit-to-fly’ test result was checked. Flight home was fine. On arrival to Doncaster airport none of our information was checked. We’re now on day 2 and are waiting for our test to arrive 🤞

Also, I don’t think many are aware that you can take your ‘fit-to-fly’ test with you, do the test and take a photograph of the result, which is then checked at the airport. This is easier than having to go to the chemist in Spain and also cheaper. I think the company is C19 testing and the tests are about £30.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about which tests etc are needed to hope this helps.
Obviously travelling with children or for anyone unvaccinated this will be different to my experience.

We had our test done in Almoradi (myself and my husband) which cost €40 but my daughter brought her fit-to-fly home test with her and had took take a photo of test result. This was £30.

We printed all our documents off to make things easier. We booked our day 2 test before we came home and had evidence of this but no one checked it. I’m still waiting for my day 2 test and it’s day 2 and DPD don’t have it yet so it won’t arrive on time so I wouldn’t recommend that company. It’s confusing but still worth it to get out there.

Famous last words, wait until you try and fill out the forms then you’ll see just how easy it is!!!

The forms seems to be turning almost everyone into stressed out wrecks

The Day2 testing back in the UK is a complete farce tbh. Out of 6 of us who travelled, 2 have still not received their test kit (we arrived home on 14th August), and 3of us didn’t receive our test results until 8 days after! I know the UK govt have just said they are gonna review their recommended companies, but the whole thing is just tin pot. I for one will just take the free NHS lateral flow tests in future and argue the toss if I get called. Don’t know how closely the govt passenger locator forms are checked, but I’ll try reusing on old reference number and claim a typo.

I don’t blame you! It’s definitely a money making racket when we can do our own lateral flow tests at home 😡

Excuse my ignorance but when you mention taking the free LFT and using an old ref number, how would that work?

I heard someone mention they used their Sons code for the Locator form(he had been out a couple of weeks earlier) and was never questioned, are you talking about the same.

Seems the right thing to do if you can get away with it.

Hi

Many companies on the bandwagon to make lots of money, Ryanair sent me details of A company where you leave tour test in certain bins, outside pharmacies and I have read about them in the  Mail, I saw the bins and they were overflowing people had to leave them on top ,they send a driver to collect them and some people are 30 minutes drive away, all your personal details are at risk because anyone can take them, and they said you can send them by courier if you wish how much will that cost, some company was dumping them, and these companies have to be recommended by the Government. Javid is looking at the cost ,well its a bit late after getting families to use them, India and other countries allowed in are they having the UK test. ? We are coming over next week until middle of November, so will see what is happening before we return,

Basically yes, I would use an old ref number on the govt form just to enable me to complete and submit it. I would then use a lateral flow test when I got back to satisfy myself I was negative. I know they aren’t infallible, but better to take a couple of those than wait 7 or 8 days without knowing you have got COVID or not. I think the system is such a shambles that you could argue your way out of any official contact.

The company I used by the way was Expert Medical.
