Hi - just received our itemised legal bill for conveyancing charges for the fontana  apartment I've just bought - included is €225 for changing the utilities into my name. This seems extortionate to me when it appears that all I needed to have done was to ring the utilities providers myself to inform them and set up the appropriate direct debits - which would have cost nothing! Am I missing something??

Doesn't seem grossly out of proportion for a professionals services.

Possibly (although it's not always that simple) but could you have, is your Spanish good enough?

Actually no, my Spanish is basic so you have a good point! Having done a bit more research, I now understand that the conveyancer also does checks to ensure there are no outstanding debts on the utilities and withholds some of the payment for the property if there are so it makes a bit more sense to me now!
