Hi there

Can you please tell me about transport and journey times (car and public transport) from Alicante airport to Denia? We have searched the internet for this but information is variable for some reason and I know the info will be accurate from this forum.

Many thanks in advance

Jo

I always find google maps good as you can change between car and public transport. The journey time will change depending on time of day and traffic conditions however you travel.

Rome2Rio is also pretty accurate.

Thank you very much. My husbands looking at Google maps and I had obtained info from rome2rio also. Just wondered if anyone had info on average. We are looking to buy a small holiday apartment and Denia is one area we are looking at for our family.

Thanks again

Have just seen in CB news that following recent fire  line between altea la. Olla andcalpe has been replaced by bus service this will add time to journey  bus or car much better option for full tripg

There is also an airport at Valencia which may be more convenient for Denia. I have friends who live in Javea who would not dream of going to Alicante, they travel frequently and always use Valencia.

Hi Jo, there are a number of different options open to you depending on how much time you have and how much money you want to spend.

* Hiring a private car from the airport is the quickest but the most expensive way to get there. If money is not a problem then always make sure you book a reputable firm. We have used Beniconnect a number of times and they have always been very reliable and professional but you're probably looking to spend around €120 for a private car. They also offer a shuttle service at a much cheaper rate, so that might be worth looking into.

* The route we often use is to get the airport bus to Alicante bus station and then one of the express buses from there to Denia. Make sure you get an express bus ( around 1 hour 30 mins) of which there are a few every day. Alsa is the bus company that runs these routes and you can book your tickets online in advance.

*Another alternative, is to get the direct bus to Benidorm bus station from the airport (upstairs and right next to the bus stop to Alicante) . From Benidorm bus station there is a few minute walk to the new tram station where you can get a tram direct to Denia. Its a lovely scenic route and takes about an hour and 20 mins. Be aware though the trams only leave once an hour from memory. Again you can find the time table online.

* As mentioned in another post you could always travel from Valencia bus station. You can get a metro link (with one change) from the airport to Metro stop Turia and then a 5 min walk to the bus station. Again I think Alsa also is the company that oversees the routes from Valencia to Denia but again you need to check online for their timetable. The buses from Valencia are usually direct.

* Finally, a rather obscure way is to check Bla Bla Cars. These are private drivers who are looking for a little income to assist in their journeys. We've used them a few times but the pickup and drop off stops can be a bit random, but it's a very quick and cheap way of traveling to your destination. You can check out their website . It's all above board.

Anyway, I hope all that helps.

Craig
