Hi

One year ago I purchased a car from a dealer in Torrevieja. To be honest after I picked up the car the friendliness all went with them.

One year on, almost, my ITV is due in 10 days time and I realise I have not been sent the Perisio de Circulacion. I am sure they said they would receive it and call me. I have tried many times to ask them if they have it but are ignoring the messages. (I can see they are reading them)

I have tried online to get one but I need a digital certificate. I am applying for that now but this is going to take a few weeks apparently.

I have tried to get an appointment with the transport office but none are available.

I have read I can get a temporary one from a main post office but do not know if this is good enough for the ITV.

Anyone know any more or been in a similar situation?

An ITV station can obtain duplicates of these documents. Try asking there.

It shouldn't take you weeks to get an electronic certificate. See the link above. It took me a day, the same day I got my access code from my local council office. In the link, it will tell you where your nearest office is and what to do.

Forget the transport office, face the seller and make clear that if he doesn't render Permiso de Circulacion and Certificado de Caracteristicas NOW your next move will be the Guardia Civil.

You can also go to a post office here and request a duplicate permiso de circulacion at about 30 euro.

They will request it from DGT but issue you a temporary one so you can be legal and get your ITV done whilst waiting for the new one.

Several ways of getting duplicate certificates.

First and most importantly you need to determine if the car has in fact been transferred to you.

When you get your digital certificate you will be able to install the MiDGT app and in that you will (hopefully! ) see the vehicle as registered to you, if not then unfortunately the missing permis is only a tiny part of your problem and frankly you really didn't ought to be driving the car until you have got things sorted out.

Nominally it should only take a couple of weeks for a new permis to be issued and if the dealer did the registration for you it will be posted to them for on pass.
