Hi I am looking for any advice or assistance. I am a 31 year old male who has the intention of living and working in Spain. I am presently employed in the UK security industry installing Fire and Intruder Alarms, Surveillance cameras and Entry Systems. I am a fully qualified Electrician competent in wiring houses in the construction phase, rewires or additions to existing house electrics. I am also conversant with three phase commercial or industrial installations. I do not speak any other language other than English but would be looking to change that when I move to Spain. I have a clean British Driving License and have my own van tools etc.

Non lucrative visa application - 4 replies
Hello All
Just the heads up to anyone applying for a non lucrative visa at the Manchester Spanish consulate. We attended our visa appointment at the BLS processing centre on Monday to drop off our documents. On Thursday I received a email from the consulate stating we had missing documents and that we had 10 days to address the issue. The missing documents were our 'Medical certificate with apostille and sworn translation'. I know the we dropped off these documents as I had checked and double checked before attending our appointment.
On Friday we drove from Birmingham to Manchester as they gave us one hour window for the public to walk in/drop off etc. between 10.00 and 11.00. when we spoke to the officer at the consulate said that we did not have an apostille on the sworn translation of our medical certificates, I stated that when the documents were returned from the apostille service in Coventry they only put apostille on the original certificate. The officer needed to speak with superior and the issue was resolved he said ' no problem we have all the necessary paperwork' without an explanation to the original request. Well as you can imagine we were really anxious as to what the outcome was going to be so extremely relieved when he said NO PROMBLEM. I asked if there were any other issues with our documentation and he said no we have everything now.
I returned to Birmingham and called the apostille service in Coventry to inform them of our situation, The lady I spoke to said 'Oh is that what they are asking for now thanks for letting us know i will inform everyone' I couldn't believe what I was hearing and explained that there surely needs to be better communication between the consulates and apostille services as to the latest requirements. So in short if your are going to apply ask the question with apostille services. Good luck!!
