Hi all,

My other half and I are buying our first house in Spain as a holiday home and hopefully for much longer stays in the future, we are buying in Montemar outside Algorfa so we are looking for any helpfull hints you may have and of course would love to make friends in the area and we are really interested in improving our limited Spanish, we are an active couple in our late 50s.

I have just bought in the area. Just behind the crossing before the Algorfa Hotel. Interested in moving out as soon as I can if I can secure a bit part time work. I am driving down middle of July for about 3 months with the wife and youngest lad (14).

Regards

Hi Mark & Katie

My husband, kids and I have just bought in Montemar.

We are excited and looking forward to come big over in the summer for our first holiday.

I don’t have any hints or tips as I am in the same position as you.  I do know there is a Spanish class in nearby Benijofar at €5 per hour which I will be looking to try.

Good luck

Louise

Dear Mark & Kate

Thank you very much for your kind response.  I cannot wait to set up our new holiday home.

My Husband (Iain) and I are coming out on 20 May to purchase furniture and attack the Ikea flat packs!

It can’t come quick enough for us.

We are looking forward to meeting all our neighbours too

Best wishes

Louise

Hi Graham

Your new home looks beautiful.

Good luck with the drive and finding a part-time job.

My eldest Son is 14, he will be pleased to know there is someone of his own age to “hang around” with......teenagers!

Best wishes to you and your family with the move.

Louise
