Having met a guy fishing at my club in the uk he mentioned fishing in Elche but could not remember the name of the place
apparently there is a lake with some man made canals that are stocked with Carp does anyone have any info on this please

Hi Eddie - unfortunately not, the only fishing I do is at Mercadona's fish counter!
I was once persuaded to try fly fishing at a trout pond in the UK, but it was over-stocked, every fly cast attracted a trout, and there was no skill in it. I caught the two I was allowed to take home, and lost interest after that.
One of the guys who worked for me used to come in bleary-eyed on Monday morning. He'd spent the night coarse fishing, put them in his keep net, let them go, and came to work. Why bother?
If you offered to take me out on a boat and try sea angling, that would be a different matter altogether.
