Hi Everyone

It has just occurred to me that our tax must now be due.  We are based in the UK and had not received a bill the last time we were in Spain. I have asked the agency who paid on our behalf last year if they can arrange it but they need the bill, or the cadastral value, which we do have from last year, but so do they, so I am assuming this changes annually?

When we last paid this tax we were banking with Caja Rural but had to swap as they would not respond to emails and did not speak English when we called, or offer us online banking so I cant request any info from them.

Could anyone offer any advice as to how we can obtain the info we need from the UK, as we wont be back in Spain until September. ?

Many thanks in advance.

Julie

The catastral value will be on your annual bill for IBI - council tax, and this will also tell you when the catastral value was last re-assessed (which determines the rate at which tax is charged).

Thank you Jim, I don’t have the IBI either though!!  I think I may have to go to the suma office next time we are in Spain.

Still so much we just don’t know, but getting there.

Thanks again

Hi There,

I have rang the Suma office but they said they do not deal with NR tax?  I do have the suma bill which apparently shows the cadastral value although I cannot locate this figure on the bill.  Do you happen to have any email address for contact?

Many thanks

Julie .

Correct - SUMA don't deal with non-resident tax, but if you haven't got the catastral value for your property then, as I said before, it appears on the IBI bill issued by SUMA.

If you've now got a copy of the IBI bill, then I suggest you post an image of it so we can see what you mean.
