Good morning, I’m looking at renting in Altea from January for 3-6 months, I would need an outside space as I have 1 very well behaved dog, are there any rentals out there that don’t charge an extortionate price thanks for reading

Hello

Sorry I can't help you with the rental but just advising you that from Jan 1st 2021 you can only stay in Spain, as a visitor for maximum 90days..... this is in relation to the end of the Brexit withdrawal agreement, which ends on 31st Jan this year & the UK becomes a Third Nation Country..  After 90days, you have to leave for 90 days & then you can return, again for up to 90days.... & so it goes on,   it is a rolling 180 days

Cheers

Hi I can help you with the rental. What's your budget? Also if you can get out before end of December that would help your issue with the 90 days etc

Elinspain is absolutely correct and I fully agree with her.

I'd like to add that if you do stay in Spain for longer than 90 days you will be required to apply for residency which will entail providing details of income and healthcare.

Hi Natalie,

Are you a UK citizen?  If so, and unless you're lucky enough to have an Irish passport, you can't stay more than a maximum of 90 days in the Schengen travel zone (Spain and other EU countries) in a rolling 180 days period.

Even if you were able to come to Spain this year, monitoring of UK citizens' movements start from 1 January 2021, so you would still need to leave the Schengen zone no later than 31 March 2021.

I hope you're able to find a suitable rental.

Kind regards,

Kim

If you are a British resident then remember the EU pet passports cease to be valid at the end of transition.  You will need to go through the new system for bringing over the dog and that takes up to 4 months to set up.

As for the rental, you have to pay the going rate if it is a legal let - the owner will be declaring and paying tax at a high rate.  Why should they let you have it cheap?

The people who voted to leave made a big big mistake.

Apparently, BoJo the Clown has already started work on his exit plan - and not because he can no longer rely on Cummings and Cain to run the country, but because he says he can't manage on his PM's salary of only £150k per year..... 🙄
