How has Altea/Mascarat fared in the storms. We have an apartment in Mascarat but as new owners we dont really know any residents yet so dont have anyone to ask.

Altea did have a lot of water running old town downwards but the town isn't flooded as such as I understand it. Mascarat should be ok given the gradient but I'm afraid I can't help more than that.

Thank for the response. My friends have property south of Alicante (Algorfa) and say the AP7 is severely damaged in several places. I wondered if the same is true North of the airport. My daughter is due to travel to Altea in a week or so. Anyone know if the road from Alicante is all okay?

Many thanks

Alan

Hi Alan,

Mascarat is okay and so is Altea. Most of the damage of the storms is further south because of the river Segura breach (twice), friends of ours in Almoradi have been flooded and the town was cut of for a few days. The route from the airport to Altea is clear and I had picked up friends only yesterday and had no problems. The forecast is good for the next week or so and the Moors and Christians festival is going ahead as planned in Altea for this weekend.

Hope this helps

Jeff
