Not true. I read something yesterday about Spain inviting people outside of the EU to come and work by applying for a visa…up to 5 years.
Really need a link for this statement.

Hello
Still waiting for a link to support this, as it sounds incorrect to me.
Unfortunately I have asked for links before for vague unsupported posts by this poster but never seem to receive anything.
Cheers

My wife and I live in Finland, so she's an EU national and I have Finnish residency. We move to Spain on Sunday. We have two properties to choose from, one in Guardamar and one in Torrevieja, so I was just thinking aloud, really. From what I can gather, Guardamar has better public transport links...

... (I have no idea how true this is; that's just what I'm getting from Google), so that was the basis for my original question
Hi Nic9Nic,
I’m not sure that’s correct about Guardamar having better public transport than Torrevieja. I’ve only visited Guardamar (it’s a lovely place), but I think the transport links would be mostly local, and I think you would end up getting a bus into Torrevieja (it’s a much bigger town and terminus for many bus routes) to go to a lot of places. Of course it depends on where you’re going! Good luck with your move.

Hello Nic9Nic, I live opposite the 'Terminal de Autobuses Guardamar del Segura' (that is the name over the waiting room; it does not have an open booking office since Covid).
Compared to Torrevieja, I think that the only service that we do not have is a direct bus to the Airport which runs from Torrevieja.
We have <costazul.avanzagrupo.com> which runs between Pilar de la Horadada and Alicante stopping at 8 intermediate towns;
Globalia have taken over Costa Azul, but still use Costa Azul buses, running between Cartagena and Alicante www.busbam.com & email: [email protected] telephone 902 22 72 72 with a detailed timetable for Monday to Saturday, then Sundays and Festival days, also in addition an evening bus that appears to run every day from June 1st to September 30th.
ALSA go to & from Madrid with a journey time of 6hours & 20 minutes and 11 stops.
We have 'La Inmaculada' which runs between Guardamar & Elche ( I don't know the details).
Guardamar has Linea 1 which has a figure of 8 route around town serving the Hotels, also Linea 2 which has a figure of 8 route serving the Urbanizations.
Guardamar has a Hospital bus twice in the morning plus once in late afternoon between our bus station and Torrevieja Hospital calling at Pinomar. www.costazul.net.
We also have a Red Cross bus for the elderly / infirm to be booked in advance at the Town Hall.
I hope that this is helpful. Peter132

Hello again, I have omitted in my previous answer to include that ALSA also go through Guardamar on the journey from La Union / Cartagena to Bilbao, Santander, Valencia, Barcelona and other cities in the North of Spain. I hope that this helps, Peter132

I think perhaps the OP might have read about the Digital Nomad Visa which is valid for 5 years.

This is called a Nomad Visa and as yet it is not available. It is for persons who want to live in Spain and work remotely via the internet for a non-Spanish company.

Thats not true, the remote working visa has been approved in Portugal but not yet in Spain. Visas are available for specialised occupations only but not for general work as EU workers can do these jobs and have preference.
