Ok so, I was under the impression that all bars and restaurants were to be closed from today unless offering a take away service. Yet walking to school i see the pastelerías and cafes open, so I walked the long way home to find pretty much most the local bars open. The policía local actually stop traffic outside of them and arent doing anything. Am I confused about the closing days? Or isit just the areas where its deemed "overcrowded"?

Good news is as suppose that if you fancy  pint or out get yaself up to La Nucia 😀

‼️New COVID19 measures COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA ‼️

1️⃣ Closure of all hospitality businesses in the Valencian Community. Takeaway/pick up food service will be permitted.

2️⃣ Closing time of all shops & non-essential businesses from 6 pm every day, except for food establishments (supermarkets and similar), pharmacies and other essential establishments.

3️⃣ Closure of all sports facilities, except for professional athletes.

**EDIT** THE CURFEW CONTINUES BEING FROM 22:00. THE PROPOSAL TO THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT TO CHANGE IT TO START AT 20:00 IS YET TO BE APPROVED.

These new measures will be implemented from this Thursday, January 21st, and will be in force until January 31st.

The other restrictions in force (such as the regional perimeter of the Comunidad Valenciana or the maximum of 6 people in the meetings) remain in force until January 31st as planned.

Also, the perimeter closure of the 29 municipalities that were confined on January 7th will end.

When the resolution is posted with all the details we will attach to this post.

I was asking how come these bars/cafes were open with the restrictions in place. I can see maybe how the pastelería can loophole it but its still a cafe and people were sitting in it

Hi Martyn,

If challenged, I suppose the people sitting in the cafes would say they're waiting for their takeaway sandwich or coffee to be made.....?

In our area, all the bars and restaurants are closed, but a Dutch cafe bar that sells bread and cakes is open for customers to purchase items to take-away, but they're not serving food and drink to be consumed on the premises.

Kind regards,

Kim

I've been around the Rincon area of Benidorm this morning and nothing is open here only the supermarket and the wine bodega so that will do me. Food and drink on the balcony 😉

Thats maybe how they're getting away with it because both right opposite the school are open with the local police directing traffic, me and the other parents were talking and woundering how they were getting away with it (maybe the police arent saying anything because they're friends lol).

We watched a clip on you tube last night and all the bars were closed down the strip. This clip was only hours old. A few people walking and cycling .Some  sat in the sun.

Hi Steve,

You've posted your request in a Benidorm thread, "All the bars are open".  It would be better if you started a new post with the correct subject.  Please also explain your specific circumstances, as a "residency" should only need renewing in certain specific circumstances - unless you mean the Padron certificate?

Kind regards,

Kim
