Any reputable dealer will sort out the change of ownership, if it an older bike the ITV ( MOT ), logbook and will advise and help arrange insurance, this should be all done within the price you pay, don't be shy haggle on the price to get the best deal rather than agree the asking price.

Buying from a dealer they do all the paperwork, transfer of log book etc. Most will not haggle much on the price. Buying a new scooter theres not a lot of profit margin on the scooter. 2nd hand they usually include the transfer of ownership costs. It’s easier to ask them to include a helmet, lock and gloves.

Insurance, get one of the free papers and phone Linea Direct or Mapfre. 120 - 200 euros third party.

Tax is a yearly item. The named owner on the log book in January pays the tax. Tax is paid in March. First one can be done at the local SUMA office and a direct debit set up. Tax is about 12 euros for a 200c scooter.

ITV is every 2 years. All you do book a time at the ITV centre. Turn up, the check they scooter and stamp the ITV paperwork. Hand you a sticker.
