Hi, I'm Bob, and I am considering buying a Caravan on any of the Benidorm campsites.                                                                       I would appreciate an advice on the process - tips on various campsites, and warning of any pitfalls I may encounter.               Regards and thanks for reading.

At the moment, Villamar in particular there are loads of caravans up for sale, the existing rules are currently been enforced by the Valencian government and it is causing a lot of unrest, the campsites appear to be “touring” sites and not residential and this alone brings a lot of problems as the site rules say that the vans have to be capable of moving at least once a year which many of them don’t even have wheels or A frames and have fitted out awnings with solid floors, from next year you can’t even fit out your awning and solid floors amongst others are prohibited.

Best bet is to join the Villamar Facebook page and see the unrest and problems they are facing yourself.

Here’s a link to sone of the site rules, there is a lot of unrest at the minute as people have to move air conditioning units from the roadside and attach to the actual van, no pot plants, one shed, no outdoor lights ….. loads of changes coming

Looks like they are getting tough with the rules. It certainly would put me off staying at the site.

Those regs will probably be implemented on all sites in Benidorm.

You will be tied to the 90 day rules.

Wow, thanks guys.

I'm happy with the 90 day rule, but didn't know anything about the other stuff being mentioned.

Don't waste your money Vila Mar for example is a dump, no privacy at all, communal showers and in winter is very cold and in summer its stupidly hot, I know a few good people on them and most regret it. Cheaper to rent an apartment. However if you have the money to waste, why not just buy a camper van? The sites for those to park are alot better, you have your own space and you can travel alot more places and enjoy traveling

I agree with renting an apartment instead of the camping sites. The fee and extras they charge on sites will be enough to rent a nice apartment on the outskirts of Benidorm.
