Hi Debbie,

I very much doubt that there are any scaffolding positions available just now as the building trades are still just getting back on their feet and there are many tradesmen applying for jobs and it's more likely that available positions would go to Spanish speakers and "people they know" etc.

Do you or Steve speak any Spanish?

There are several care services in and around Benidorm. Some of the services are mainly home visits and others in residential care homes. Do a Google search for care homes or care services and send a CV to their contact addresses.

Any job in Spain would need that you speak some level of Spanish.

If either of you go self employed you will need to obtain various licences from the town hall and have an NIE number and full healthcare cover.

Have you done your homework as to the legalities of living in Spain such as healthcare and getting your NIE number? Do you know that you need to sign the foreigners register within the first 90 days of living in Spain and after 183 days of living in Spain you will automatically become a tax resident and be expected to pay taxes to the Spanish government. You will need to fill in Modelo 720 and declare all your worldly income and amounts in your bank accounts.

Spain is a much different place to what it used to be and to get any meaningful employment you need to be fully legal before they will offer you or Steve any type of employment.

Please contact me if I can help further.

Steve

Hi Debbie, maybe your husband could apply to this scaffolding company I know, could be very interesting for them having someone in the enterprise speaking English!
