Your bag was more than likely stolen rather than lost. There have been hundreds of instances and reports like this over the holiday period. It was probably stolen by the distraction thieves who operate in the club areas picking on clubbers who they consider easy pray.
The best thing you can do is reported it to the police and getting a crime number for your insurance company.
