We are residents and want to change from the green card to a TIE can anyone tell me the process. We would prefer to do it ourselves rather than pay a Gester etc.

Hi Shelagh

there is no requirement to change an existing Residencia to a TIE. Your Residencia continues to be recognised and completely legal. Most applications for TIE are from new applicants and those who want the biometric card because it doubles up as photo ID.

If you search the Forum you will find threads which explain how the application system works.

Kind regards, Steve
