Itâs two three day strikes as detailed here
Most U.K. flights are turnaround flights and arenât crewed by Spanish staff.

Hi Lynn
All flights out of Newcastle are Spanish crew as its starts in Alicante you may find all other airports are the same as O'Learly thought he was being clever to base them in Spain and pay cheap...!!
Still as of today, the strikes will take place. You donât have much choice except to keep monitoring the updates, which I am sure you are already doing. I was in a similar situation some time back and Ryanair overcome the problem by substituting non Spanish crew members. You should be OK hopefully, because there is a minimal Spanish crew on UK / Spanish flights, mostly British from Uk airports, but still a Spanish contingency. Basically all depends on how Ryanair want to play it, and how it suits them financially as a company. I am travelling during the same dates but decided to use Easy jet instead, just incase, but Easy jet isnât particularly reliable at present. Right now itâs hit and miss if you will get to your destination irrespective of carrier.

Is that the same with all airlines from Newcastle?
All flights (all airlines) from the North West start from U.K. to Spain and then turnaround and travel straight back

Hi Lynn
Since Squeezyjet pulled out of Newcastle we are left with Jet2, Thomsons and some Ruyanair flights that fly out of Newcastle with UK crew the Alicante and Malaga flight originate from Spain so Spanish crew.

From the research I have done 1 out of the 3 Spanish crew unions (smallest) are planning strike action. Most crews originating from Uk are UK-based (not all). So taking all into consideration will have to wait and see â¦. Fingers crossed ð¤ð
