Hi, I live in cabo roig and am looking to sea fish off the coast, and am wondering where the best spots are for catching dorado and sea bass (lubina).

The bass I have seen being caught are smaller than what I'm used to catching in Mudeford in Christchurch Dorset which get to 15lb, the largest I've seen caught are 10" max off the coast. I know dorado are caught off the port wall at torrevieja, but I would like to lure fish if it is a good way of catching, rather than just sitting for hours waiting for a bite!!

Are there any good spots? Please help.

Ps, I'm getting my fishing licence today...

Hi i would be interested in taking up a bit of fishing. What do you have to do to get a licence and is it definite that you don't need one for fishing off the coast? Thanks.

As far as I’m aware it’s a separate licence for Alicante region and another for murcia region. I showed the agriculture chap where I wanted to fish and he said a licence is needed. 17 euro for two years, so that’s a few less drinks for the missus😂

It would be good to set up a group for fishing with ex Pat's it's better than going on your own by a long way and we could all learn off each other
