What's area like,drove up and looked around town and small urbanization outside

Thinking of buying in that area but struggling to find much about the local area. Drove up and had a look round the town( bigger than I thought but great amenities there)
The small area outside town with very few houses but has a infant school looks interesting ????
Any info is much appreciated
