When windy and also the constant rain I now have no hot water. Is this normal and any ideas how to resolve this issue I’ve had for quite a while now

Does it have a housing? Leroy Merlin sell them and they help a lot, if in a very exposed position then some baffles added to the housing should sort it

A device to avert the direct flow of, in this case, air in the form of wind. Allows the air to circulate but takes the power of the wind out

We had the same issue even inside a housing. After lots of messing about I went back to a 100 litre electric heater on the advice of two builders. In my case, the concensus was that the housings are not great and the water heater really needed to be indoors.

Can you reduce the gas boiler indoors? A builder could put the flue pipe through the external wall. Some extra pipe for the water, and that's it.
