This was reported in El Pais this morning, Valencia authorities are investigating cases of three mayors who were "irregularly" vaccinated for the coronavirus despite not being in the priority groups for inoculation. They are the mayors of El Verger, Els Poblets & Rafelbunyol, one of them has stated that he was offered the chance on the first day of vaccination, and did not think twice about it.

Talk about I'm alright Jack and sod the rest of us.

No not acceptable but paper talk, where are the facts. Do you really think that people in the know or with money/ power haven’t already been vaccinated. Would you turn it down ?

This particular vaccine must be used on the day and here in the U.K. I have heard that hospitals are inviting people to come forward snd be vaccinated when they have some extra unused doses rather than see them going to waste. It is a possibility that this is how the 3 mayors were offered theirs.  Regardless, it’s done now and why waste time and effort on an enquiry. It may have been seen that they set an example as some people have been declaring  that they wouldn’t have the inoculation so if the Major had it, then others would follow.

unfortunately some humans will always choose to abuse a system.  A nurse who has an allotment plot next to mine told me that the whole of the finance department had been vaccinated at our county hospital (where she works) and yet the frontline workers such as herself, were still waiting.  If there had been vaccinations needing using up etc, there are frontline staff in situ, at any time, who could have/should have been called forward before a back office function such as the finance department who work 9-5!!  I guess they are the ones 'buying' the vaccinations so have first dibs.  Nutso!
